Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) celebrated its 9th convocation yesterday. HRH Tuanku Ibrahim ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Iskandar officiated the event for the first time as the Sultan of Johor. The Sultan also proclaimed his prince, Tuanku Ismail as the Pro-Chancellor of UTHM. For this convocation, former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi was conferred with the honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Education. On Wednesday, Tun Abdullah spent some time with the University's new students and attended the launching of a book about him entitled 'Tun Abdullah: Bapa Pembangunan Modal Insan' at the University's Examination Hall.
